Novel Data

Enabled Countries is the list a novel’s origin can be set from, and it is what the country badge on a cover draws. Trim it to the languages you actually publish: a dropdown of two hundred countries on a site that translates from Chinese and Korean is a worse dropdown.

Search Engines

Search Engine Metadata writes the tags that decide how a novel or chapter appears in a search result and in a social card.

Leave it on unless you run a dedicated SEO plugin, in which case turn it off so the two are not both writing the same tags.

Copy Protection

Discourages copying chapter text.

Strength is light, medium or strong. Watermark Words and Frequency put invisible markers in the text, so a chapter that turns up on another site can be traced back.

Be clear about what this is: it raises the effort. Nothing rendered in a browser can be truly protected, and strong protection also inconveniences readers using screen readers and translation tools. Light is the setting most sites should stop at.

R18 / Adult Content

Enable Adult Content turns the flag on. A novel is then marked R18 on its own edit screen, and these settings decide what that means:

• Visibility: everyone, logged-in readers only, or hidden entirely.
• Show R18 Badge on the cover.
• Blur Covers until a reader chooses to see them.
• Exclude Homepage, which keeps adult titles out of your front page while leaving them in the library.

Comments

Moderation Dictionary holds a comment for review; Spam Dictionary bins it.

Auto-approve trusted readers takes a number: after that many approved comments, a reader stops being held. This is the setting that makes moderation survive a release day.

Trust Patreon supporters extends the same to anyone with a qualifying membership, on the reasoning that somebody paying you monthly is not your spam problem.

Reader Help

FAQ Page points at your own page. Chapter Reader switches on the first-time explanation of the reader’s controls.

Worth leaving on. Most of your readers have not used a site with a coin balance and a font-size panel before.

Tooltips

Two small hover labels, on the DMCA request link and the add-to-library button. On by default, and there is little reason to turn them off.
