Overview and readers

For JormunTL 1.2.0

The community dashboard, and the reader list where balances, access and accounts are managed.

Everything readers say, ask for and report lives under Community in the WordPress sidebar.

Overview

Community ▸ Overview. Four counts: what has come in, and what is waiting for you.

The Community overview, with counts for announcements, novel requests, polls and copyright requests

Start here rather than in the individual queues. The copyright count is drawn in red when there is anything in it, because a takedown notice you have not seen is a different kind of problem from a poll you have not run.

Readers

Community ▸ Readers. Every reader account, with what you need to answer a question about one.

The Readers screen: four totals, filter tabs, a search box, and a row per reader with balance, status, Patreon and activity

Four totals across the top: total readers, how many are premium, how many have linked Patreon, and how many hold a balance.

The filter tabs below them are the useful part. With Balance is who owes you nothing but is holding your currency. Deletion Pending is who has asked to be erased and has not been yet. Patreon is who is linked.

Each row carries the reader’s balance, status, Patreon state and recent activity, with Edit account, Award and a menu of the rest.

Award adds coins by hand. It is the only place that changes a balance, which is deliberate: a balance is a record of money, and it should move in one place with one trail rather than from wherever somebody happens to be standing.

Two things end here:

  • A refund. Refund the payment in Stripe, PayPal or Ko-fi first, then take the coins back here if they have not been spent. JormunTL has no refund button because the money is not in JormunTL.
  • A Ko-fi payment that could not be matched to an account. Those wait on their own list at the bottom of the Monetization settings screen and are attached to a reader from there.

Export CSV takes the list elsewhere. Staff accounts switches to the people who run the site rather than the people who read it.
