Chapter 60: Exploitation

“Alright, everyone go back now. I should be heading out too.” At Ye Kong’s words, the girls finally left in twos and threes, reluctantly departing. Once everyone had gone, Ye Kong prepared to leave as well.

“Eighth Young Master…” Little Oriole’s resentful voice sounded from behind him. Today had been a complete tragedy for her. Originally, today was definitely supposed to be the day she and the Eighth Young Master would do that, but who knew a whole gang of intruders would show up and squeeze her, the actual main character, completely to the sidelines.

Now the Eighth Young Master was leaving, and who knew when he’d come again next time. Maybe… maybe by then she’d already be taken by some other man first… and then the Eighth Young Master wouldn’t want her anymore.

Thinking about her grievances, Little Oriole’s eyes reddened, tears threatening to fall.

Ye Kong knew what she was thinking. He said to Feng Siniang, “Keep her available.”

“Understood.” Feng Siniang had already made a mistake and didn’t even dare meet Ye Kong’s eyes.

“Wait for my next visit.” Ye Kong nodded at Little Oriole and strode out the door.

Actually, keeping Little Oriole available wasn’t really for himself. The key issue was Old Ancestor Yellow Springs. Today he’d come to the brothel for that old bastard, but who knew the ancestor would refuse to wake up no matter what. When he finally did wake up, he’d definitely make a fuss about wanting to see women. At that point, he could just let him look at Little Oriole.

“What is it?” Ye Kong saw Feng Siniang following behind him and stopped.

“Eighth Young Master, this servant… this servant has something to say but doesn’t dare speak [stolen content]it.” Feng Siniang’s expression was timid and hesitant.

“Speak!” Ye Kong said impatiently. What was there to be afraid of now? Was she planning to pull some other trick?

“Eighth Young Master, could you… could you warn that Iron Bailiff not to come harass Treasure Spring Pavilion anymore?” Feng Siniang said cautiously.

Ye Kong gave a cold laugh. “Not dare? Your guts are plenty big! When Iron Bailiff came, why didn’t you clearly tell him I was inside drinking? You obviously wanted to drag me down into the water with you!”

“…” Feng Siniang couldn’t speak. Standing at the back building exit, she lowered her head, unable to say a word. She hadn’t expected this fellow to be shrewd to such a degree. Her little schemes, the small manipulations she’d done without him seeing, he’d somehow guessed anyway.

This kid, was he really fourteen? How was he like an old fox? Feng Siniang couldn’t help muttering internally.

“Nothing to say now? Hmph!” Ye Kong snorted coldly and walked out the wooden building’s back door, stepping onto the cobblestone path in the rear courtyard.

Actually, what really made Ye Kong angry at the proprietress was precisely this. If you’re asking for help, show some sincerity, and he would have agreed. But what was this supposed to be? Using him? Treating him like a sucker?

More importantly, this kind of thing had a first time and would have a second. Next time he’d very likely be exploited again, so Ye Kong had to make it crystal clear to her.

The moon shone bright and clear. The small path was quiet and cold, with only Ye Kong walking along it. Beside him flowed a clear artificial stream. The round, bright moon reflected on the mirror-like water surface.

A small dragonfly rested briefly on the water’s surface. Instantly, the moon in the water rippled outward from the center in layers, the pale gleaming waves flashing enchantingly.

The beautiful night scenery made Ye Kong pause his steps. Looking at the lake surface, he sighed. In the future, he’d better visit these kinds of places less often. In a pile of fragrant powder and soft jade, it was too easy to become addicted and lose all interest in cultivation.

“Eighth Young Master.” Feng Siniang, who had caught up from behind, came before Ye Kong. Suddenly, her knees softened and she knelt down, saying, “Eighth Young Master, this lowly servant was wrong. The Eighth Young Master is magnanimous. Not only did you not blame me, you even took the initiative to help Treasure Spring Pavilion ward off disaster. Please punish me!”

Hearing her sincere apology and seeing her change her self-reference to “lowly servant,” the knot in Ye Kong’s heart loosened considerably. He stepped forward and said, “Alright, just don’t let there be a second time. Get up.”

“Please punish this servant, Eighth Young Master!” Unexpectedly, Feng Siniang refused to rise, still kneeling before Ye Kong.

She lowered her head and loosened her clothing, revealing her snow-white chest. Her face flushed red as she said, “Could the Eighth Young Master punish this servant like this?”

Ye Kong was momentarily stunned, then immediately understood what she meant. He couldn’t help shaking his head. Did women in this world really use this method to apologize? And she was the proprietress of Treasure Spring Pavilion, probably in her thirties. Though she still had some lingering charm, Ye Kong really had no interest.

More importantly, this woman was too scheming. Who knew if this apology was genuine or if she had some other agenda? Ye Kong didn’t want to get entangled with her.

“No need.” Ye Kong turned around. “I can’t accept this kind of apology method.”

“Then how does the Eighth Young Master want this servant punished?” Feng Siniang looked up in surprise.

Ye Kong thought for a moment, then said, “Punish yourself like this… are you satisfied, Eighth Young Master?”

Feng Siniang raised her head and asked softly.

“I have things to do tonight, I’m leaving first. If you need my help in the future, say it clearly.” Ye Kong waved his hand and walked toward the small sedan chair waiting in the front courtyard.

As soon as Ye Kong left, Feng Siniang also supported herself on her legs to stand. These cobblestones really did dig into the knees.

Feng Siniang stood in the rear courtyard, the ripples in her heart continuously undulating. At this moment, Ye Kong also sat in the small sedan carried by two men, using his hand to lift the curtain, his eyes watching outside the sedan.

“Kid, if you want her, don’t hold it in. Go back. I just woke up and I’m in great spirits right now,” said Old Ancestor Yellow Springs. The bastard hadn’t woken early, hadn’t woken late, but woke up right after the business was finished.

“Your timing really is impeccable.” Ye Kong let down the sedan curtain and snorted coldly. “I already went to Treasure Spring Pavilion. It’s not my fault you didn’t wake up. Since you’re in such great spirits, go back and refine pills for me.”

“No way. You went, but this old ancestor didn’t go.” Old Ancestor Yellow Springs was thoroughly displeased.

“The opportunity has passed!” Ye Kong turned his gaze back to the sedan’s small window, resuming his daze.
